Maurice de Mauriac holds an interesting place in the watch world. It is not really a new brand, nor is it an old brand. It is, however, a brand that we can certainly endorse and one we see big things coming from in the very near future. Just a few weeks ago, prior to Basel World 2009, we held a 30 minute phone call with Maurice de Mauriac founder and designer Daniel Dreifuss. We have to admit, we were impressed.
We often speak to people behind the brands but rarely does such a passion come across, especially over the telephone. We began to explore the brand and its merits a little bit more and we really like what we see.
Maurice de Mauriac watches are designed and produced in Zurich, Switzerland, which you may think is a common area for watch manufacturers, but in actuality it is not. In fact, Maurice de Mauriac is the first watch producer to come out of and be branded with "Zurich"...interesting, no?
